Not only that, we said at the beginning of this year we would like to be “member-owned since 2018”. Well I have good news, with a current toll of 12 members we can officially say we are member owned. WHAT? I have to admit even I didn’t think it would happen. Even more than this, we are now offering actual natural foods right in the heart of Glencoe. Yes, that’s right. If you haven’t already seen the news about our “pilot project” you can find out more about our little table on Facebook @ McleodHealthWellness. Although our numbers are small, we are not discouraged – after all wasnt that the title given to our counterparts at the powerful annual “Small & Strong Conference” for startup co-ops? Indeed it was. There are some definite signs of life here and I’m just so darn proud of us. Did I say that already?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still waiting for more and more people to take interest. More people getting involved is the only way to grow this thing, but really… this snowball is on a roll and THAT is a reason to celebrate. Woot!! Our prayers are working, our effort is dangerous and we are starting a co-op! Come ON!! Can you get excited about that with me?! Im rocking out over here!
Whew! Okay, if you are an organic eater, shopper or just want to see what’s going on, please consider joining us. I encourage you to get involved even if it just means calling and suggesting products you’d like to see available in Glencoe. Encouraging this effort along is what makes all the difference – and we would love your help and input!
